Dr. Angeliki Flokou holds a PhD in Health Management and Economics from the School of Social Sciences at the Hellenic Open University (HOU). She also earned an MSc in Health Care Management from the same institution and holds a Degree in Dentistry from the School of Dentistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her professional career has been dedicated to the health sector, where she has served as both a Dentist and a Dental Auditor for social security organizations. She has also held the position of Manager and President of the Board of Directors at the General Hospital of Argolida in Greece. In university education, she has served as a member of the adjunct teaching staff (SEP) in the thematic units DMY60 (Economic and Financial Management of Health Services) and DMY50 (Fundamental Principles of Management in the Health Services), and as Assistant Director of the postgraduate program “Health Care Management” at HOU. Her research interests focus on Health Economics; Organization and Management of Health Services; resource allocation and Health Services Financing; Economic Analysis and Evaluation of Public Social Policies; Health Services Evaluation; inequalities in Health and Health Services, and Health Literacy. She has published scientific articles in well-known peer-reviewed international and Greek journals and has also presented related work at Greek and international conferences. She combines long-standing professional, academic, research, and administrative experience with in-depth knowledge of the health sector.
